Mason City's police chief says the department may take a tougher stance on fireworks next 4th of July

Meanwhile, the fire department had to respond to less calls this year.
The city also received a few calls regarding air quality from so many fireworks being ignited.
Chief brinkley says they are considering taking a tougher stance on the pyrotechnic displays next year.
Going into year three with our ordinance, next year certainly, i don't have any heartburn with writing them from the onset.
