Group walking from Milwaukee to Washington DC makes their way into Allen County

A group advocating for racial justice is heading into Fort Wayne.

Their march started in Milwaukee almost two weeks ago, and the play on being in Washington D.C.

By the anniversary date of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s 'I Have A Dream' speech.

A group walking from milwaukee to washington d-c makes their way through northeast indiana.

Good evening..i'm hunter petroviak.

It's the groups 11-th day walking in their fight against racial injustice..

A day after three from the group were arrested in kosciusko county.

Fox 55's chris mullooly is live in fort wayne.

Chris... you joined up with the group in columbia city... what did they say happened on wednesday night??

Hunter... its the first time they said they had any problems with police.some deputies helped escort them..some sheriffs even walked with them.but things changed when they got into indiana.

?nats?a walk through columbia city?nats?the line of cars..

.some spray painted with messages... starting in miluwakee...now making their way through whitley county.

What other way to show change and justice then putting foot to the groundcortez rice and timothy williams were walking towards washington d-c together... when they heard about what this group was going throughracism and racial slurs and boots thrown at them then got arrested so they said hurry upthe groups leader..

Frank nitty..

And two others arrested in kosciusko county as they walked on u-s highway 30.troopers wanting them off the road....but leaders with the group saying they were doing nothing wrong... and had no problems up until nowsome deputies and sheriffs have walked with us when we got to indiana its was a deeper darker type of racismtory lowe says the walk took a turn as they crossed over the indiana state line.they felt more hostility towards the group from drivers.he says some yelling the n-word..bringing the need for more people to walk..

To provide protection.

Throwing shoes at us burning tires to create smoke while we're walking so this created protection we've been walking from county to countythe walk towards washington d-c is for racial equality... a walk towards the spot doctor martin luther king junior held his own march.lowe says the trip has opened his eyes to many things over the past few days.

I wonder what happens to people here on a day to day basis some people have to live here i wonder how they're treatedfor rice and williams... the trip is more personal.george floyd was their uncle.his death still hard to talk about...but the message they're preaching still remains the same.its horrible its wrong if you're a police officer and you see a police officer doing that you should stop them no one is above the law the group is doing thirty miles a day.this way they can get to d-c by around the 28-th for the anniversary of doctor martin luther kings 'i have a dream speech'.they also plan to try and be in allen county by tomorrow... and hope to speak with leaders of racial justice movements here.
