This is the heartwarming moment a baby trapped inside a flooded house with her father was rescued using a bathtub.

Neighbours helped a family evacuate their house when the flash floods from tropical storm Leon submerged their village in Cebu City, the Philippines on September 15.

One of the villagers, Eric Trasona, said that it rained hard throughout the day and hoped that it would stop after a few hours.

However, everyone rushed out of their homes when the water suddenly rose up to 4ft-high in the night.

Meanwhile, the family with a three-month-old baby was trapped inside because they live at the end of the street.

Eric said: "We heard his father calling for help because he was trapped with his baby.

We immediately searched for a basin to help them out." The kind neighbours called the local officers to bring a boat for rescue and while waiting they helped each other save the trapped family.

They found a discarded bathtub and tied a rope in one end so they can pull the father and his baby to higher ground.

A brave man volunteered to swim in the flood and take the basin to the end of the street where the family was.

The baby and his father were rescued after almost half an hour before local officials came to the area and evacuate the residents.

The affected families were taken to a nearby school building to stay for the night until the flood recedes and the weather condition gets better.
