Mumbai rain: Train services & traffic affected; water enters Covid hospital

Heavy showers overnight and Wednesday caused waterlogging at many places in Mumbai disrupting normal life in the city.

Massive traffic snarls were reported from different areas while train services were also disrupted.

Streets were water logged in several areas and people had to wade through knee deep water.

A bus was stuck in King Circle and passengers were seen holding each other’s hand to get past water logged streets.

Railway tracks were also water logged leading to cancellation of several local trains.

Water also entered Nair Hospital in Mumbai which is a dedicated Covid facility.

Work is underway by the civic body to clear these roads for hassle free commute.

According to the India Meteorological Department, Mumbai is expected to receive moderate rains till September 28.

This is the heaviest rain the suburbs received this monsoon season and IMD has warned of more rainfall in the city and suburbs.

A yellow alert has also been sounded for Wednesday.
