Turning back to indiana's governor's race --- governor holcomb making some last minute stops on the campaign trial -- including here in the river city.

44news reporter marisa patwa caught up with the governor -- during his visit to the evansville wartime museum.

With 1.7 million hoosiers casting their vote as of this weekend -- indiana gov.

Eric holcomb stopped by evansville monday morning to encourage those undecided voters to cast their ballots -- no matter which side of the aisle they agree with.

"we should all celebrate the fact that people are stepping forward, expressing their voice through their vote and it's going to make a difference.

And i would just encourage a lot of people -- what we've heard from is they want to show up in person."

The gov.

Was also joined by running mate lt.

Gov suzanne crouch and us senator todd young the middle of serving a six year term after being elected in 2016 and has made controversial waves as a strong proponent of newly appointed supreme court justice amy coney barrett -- a move he says is essential in moving the county forward "folks, there's certain moments in the history of a country that you just have to get right.

And the difference in vision that the national democrats have versus the national republicans is incredibly stark."

Up against holcomb and crouch is libertarian donald rainwater and former state health commissioner, democrat woodrow meyers, who has been vocal about the governor being too lax on restrictions during the pandemic.

"we have got some comments that we should go hard right or hard left and i as governor don't approach it by the extreme.

I am trying to hit it right in the fairway.

I am not saying i am a good golfer.

But i am trying to hit it right down the fairway and make sure our kids our in school and that our businesses can all open safely."

As for the future of tackling the coronavirus in the state?

Gov.

Holcomb says hoosier companies are already working on a vaccine "whether it be eli lily / whether it be roach, etcetera, indiana is going to play an outside roll in getting us through covid-19 not just here in the state but around the country and hereby the world."

Dr. myers visited early voters at the lucas oil stadium in indy over the weekend.

While donald rainwater is taking some personal time monday after visiting six cities over the weekend.
