Mayor Norton's Efforts To Help The Community

Kimt news 3's jeremy wall spoke with the mayor earlier about city efforts to help.

He joins us live in rochester... jeremy.

Katie, when i spoke with mayor norton earlier here's what she told me.

She said the city has recieved eight to nine million dollars overall and worked really hard to provide economic recovery for businesses and nonprofits.

She says, though, that some are falling through the cracks including artists.

The city is making an effort to identify such needs and meet those needs.

There often self employed, many of them have shops that they rent, i can think of two or three downtown right off the bat, they have space, pay rent, um but for a while early on, those were closed, their lacking customers, people aren't out spending money in the same way.

The mayor also tells me she had groups take applications for grants to try and help them.
