Zoo Atlanta takes precautions after Bronx Zoo tiger tests positive for COVID-19

Zoo Atlanta animal care employees are now wearing protective gear while caring for their five lions and tigers after learning a Bronx Zoo tiger recently tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19. The tiger is believed to be the first wild animal in the U.S. to contract the illness.  There are currently no incidents of COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the coronavirus, among the 1,000 animals at Zoo Atlanta, according to President and CEO Raymond King.
