Bay Area personal-shopping service cutting 1,400 employees

Stitch Fix is slashing 1,400 of its California-based personal-shopping stylists as it seeks to replace its workforce with employees in states with lower labor costs. The cuts represent about 18% of the San Francisco-based company’s roughly 8,000 workers it had as of August 2019, according to its filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
