The biggest mall operator in the country is going after its biggest non-anchor tenant for failure to pay rent. Simon Property Group (SPG: NYSE) is suing San Francisco-based Gap Inc. over $65.9 million in rent and other charges due, The Real Deal has reported. Filed in Delaware state court, the lawsuit from the real estate investment trust (REIT) is asking the court to make Gap pony up the $65.9 million along with any future rent payments.
