VST Enterprise Ltd is set to play an important role as UK continues to re-establish itself in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, with its software part of a plan to get fans back into sports venues. The company, which had been focussed on cybersecurity, has developed an app which will manage a testing and tracking protocol for event-goers. The idea is that fans will undergo a rapid Covid-19 test before the event in order to secure a ‘V-Health Passport’ via the VST app, which in-turn allows entry to the stadium or arena. It is proposed that the app will be used as part of upcoming test events, encouraged by the UK government which wants to have crowds of 500 to 5,000 people at events by October. The plan comes as sports fan mark the end of the disrupted and restarted Premier League 2019/20 season, albeit the countdown to the later-than-usual kick-off of the 2020/21 season in mid-September. Under the ‘Fans are Back’ pilot plan, the aim is to assist football, rugby and snooker events.
