Despite an early push and improved perks for seasonal help, already short-staffed retailers should expect continued difficulty this fall when it comes to holiday hiring. A new report by outplacement and coaching firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas on the seasonal hiring outlook projects retailers will bring on 700,000 workers to handle the holiday rush, fewer than last season.  In 2020, retailers added 736,300 seasonal employees, which fell short of the expected 788,600.
