No FIRs in Guj, instead Agnipath protesters to be counselled

Agnipath, the new scheme introduced by the Government of India on June 14 for recruitment of soldiers below the rank of commissioned officers into the three services of the armed forces, has led to protests in several parts of the country, especially in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi and Haryana. While the protesting youths in many states have been slapped with legal cases, in Gujarat, the home department has decided to counsel the potential 'Agniveers' and let them 'cool off'. The department has decided not to file FIRs against them.
