Discrimination in sacrifice of martyrs is insult to them: Rahul slams Agnipath scheme

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the difference in benefits given to the families of Agniveers compared to regular soldiers after martyrdom. Gandhi shared a chart showing less benefits for Agniveer families, stating that discrimination in the sacrifice of martyrs is an insult. Earlier, Gandhi alleged that the Agnipath scheme was designed to insult bravehearts as they receive no pension or benefits after martyrdom. The BJP refuted the charge. The Agnipath scheme was introduced in 2022 for short-term contractual recruitment of soldiers in the tri-services.
