Minor held for sacrilege, granted bail

In a gurdwara located in a village of Batala in Punjab, CCTV footage captured an 11-year-old boy tearing a page of Guru Granth Sahib. The incident occurred on Monday at 8:30 am, when he tore the 1,029th "ang". Sukhwinder Singh, granthi of the gurdwara, reported the incident to the police, and an FIR was registered under Section 295A (insulting religion or religious beliefs) of the IPC against the boy. He was later detained and granted bail.
