Medanta parent's scrip soars, makes Trehan a billionaire

Renowned cardiovascular surgeon Naresh Trehan, founder of Delhi-based Escorts Heart Institute, joins the list of Indian billionaires as the share price of his company, Global Health, doubled in the last year. With a market capitalisation of Rs 25,764 crore, Trehan's stake is worth about Rs 8,517 crore, making him a billionaire. Global Health operates the Medanta hospital chain in Gurgaon, Indore, Ranchi, Lucknow, and Patna, with plans for expansion in Noida. The company has seen growth in international patient revenue and is on track to achieve its FY25 financial performance in FY24.
