Sena row: Plea in SC over speaker’s meet with Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde

The Shiv Sena (UBT) has objected to Maharashtra assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar meeting CM Eknath Shinde ahead of the verdict in the Shiv Sena MLAs’ disqualification case. The verdict is expected on January 10, the deadline set by the Supreme Court. UBT Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray criticized the meeting, saying it is like a judge meeting the accused. Narwekar has denied the allegations and stated that his verdict will be based on constitutional provisions and legislature rules.
