Plaint on bulk ‘Viksit Bharat’ WhatsApp messages referred to EC

Chandigarh's chief electoral officer has forwarded a digital complaint to the Election Commission. The complaint alleges that a central government department breached the model code of conduct by sending bulk WhatsApp messages under the label "Viksit Bharat Sampark" post the Lok Sabha elections announcement. Chandigarh's returning officer and DC Vinay Pratap Singh stated that "necessary action" in line with EC guidelines will be initiated.
