Two officers injured as 5 missiles target Iraqi air base

(MENAFN) The Iraqi military said Sunday in a statement that an Iraqi military air base in Iraq's Salahudin province north of capital Baghdad hit by five missiles, with two security members sustaining wounds as a results The rockets were launched from al-Dojama, an area situated across the Tigris River in the neighboring Diyala province, and struck the Balad Air Base, some 90 km north of Baghdad, the media office of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command (JOC) said in a statement. According to the office, two members of an Iraqi force tasked with protecting the base were wounded as a result of the assault. The JOC said: "These heinous acts targeting our military installations will face a firm response," adding describing the attack as �a terrorist act."
