House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., Minority Whip Steve Scalese, R-La., and Republican Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., lambasted the proxy voting plan during a press conference, along with a handful of other members. The House Republicans announced a lawsuit against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on Tuesday over the proxy voting system's constitutionality.
