At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, many real estate experts were predicting that people would move out of dense urban areas and embrace suburban living as remote work took off across the country. But a new report shows that home sales in both suburban and urban areas are actually keeping pace with each other during the pandemic in most major U.S. cities, with exceptions in two major metropolitan areas. In their "2020 Urban-Suburban Market Report," economists at the Seattle-based Zillow Group found many similarities in both the urban and suburban market, including more homes selling about their listing price and homes spending less time on the market.
