Italian man suspected of femicide found in Germany: lawyer

A 22-year-old Italian university student has been arrested in Germany after allegedly kidnapping and killing his ex-girlfriend. The suspect, Filippo Turetta, was found driving in his car near Leipzig after a week-long manhunt. The victim, Giulia Cecchettin, was found dead with stab wounds near Lake Barcis. This incident adds to the growing problem of femicide in Italy, with 82 out of 102 female homicide victims being killed by family members or partners. The president of the Veneto region has called for a day of mourning in honor of Cecchettin.
