Biden administration aims to clean up power sector with revamped rules

The Biden administration has finalized regulations targeting carbon, air, and water pollution from power plants, aiming to reduce over 1 billion metric tons in carbon emissions by 2047 amidst increasing electricity demand. The Environmental Protection Agency has strengthened measures to cut carbon emissions from existing coal and new gas plants, while also updating rules to decrease mercury, toxic air pollutants.
