Singer is being sued by Jamaican songwriter Michael May, who claims her 2013 hit โ€œWe Canโ€™t Stopโ€ infringes upon the a song he released in 1988 called โ€œWe Run Things.

May, who performs as Flourgon, alleges that about 50 percent of Cyrusโ€™ hit comes from the song, which was a No.1 hit in Jamaica.

He has accused Cyrus and her label RCA Records misappropriating elements, like the lyric, โ€œWe run things.

Things no run we.โ€ In May's song, he sings "โ€œWe run things.

Things donโ€™t run we.โ€ May is seeking to halt further sales and performances of โ€œWe Canโ€™t Stop."
