Report Claims Comey Deviated From Norm In Handling Of Clinton Email Probe

Wochit - June 14, 2018

According to a report by Bloomberg News, former FBI Director James Comey deviated from the agency's norms in his handling of a probe into then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, however, a Justice Department watchdog concluded there was no evidence his actions were motivated by political bias.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz reportedly said in the report’s conclusions, “While we did not find that these decisions were the result of political bias on Comey’s part, we nevertheless concluded that by departing so clearly and dramatically from FBI and department norms, the decisions negatively impacted the perception of the FBI and the department as fair administrators of justice." According to Reuters, the report by Horowitz is due to be released publicly Thursday afternoon..
