Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou is suing the Canadian government, its border agency, and federal police.

The Chinese tech executive alleges she was detained, searched, and interrogated for three hours in violation of her constitutional rights.

Meng's arrest in Vancouver last December on a U.S. warrant sparked a diplomatic outcry from Beijing.

The U.S. alleges Meng's firm defrauded American banks by hiding transactions linked to Iran, in violation in U.S. sanctions.

Meng's civil lawsuit alleges Canadian border agents detained her unlawfully for several hours before she was formally arrested.

Her lawsuit also alleges officers searched her electronic devices and her luggage without authority.

Meng, who is out on bail, is due to appear in a Vancouver court on Wednesday, when a date will be set for her extradition hearing.

The Canadian government approved her extradition proceedings on Friday
