FCC Chairman Pai Proposes Default Call-Blocking

Geek.com reports that FCC Chairman Ajit Pai wants to let phone companies block unwanted calls to customers by default.

Pai released a new proposal this week.

If passed, it would also empower folks to stop calls from numbers not on their own contact list.

Verizon, AT&T, and Comcast recently announced plans to step up their spam protection efforts.

Many have held off on deploying call-blocking tools by default because of uncertainty about their legality.
