Dozens of tornadoes touched down in the Midwest Friday as the central U.S. braces for more powerful storms through the weekend.

Dozens of tornadoes rip through Midwest

Dozens of tornadoes ripped through the Midwest late Friday kicking off a weekend of severe weather.

More than 50 million people in the central U.S. are in the path of strong storms, damaging winds, and large hail over the next few days.

In Mineola, Kansas, a twister reportedly overturned this semi-truck with the driver inside.

NATS: ''Help is here, they're going to get him out, he's fine, seatbelt saved him.'' Near Bloom, Kansas, a tornado destroyed this mobile home.

At least one tornado touched down in Oklahoma.

The severe weather is threatening a wide swath of the country from the Rocky Mountains through the Midwest and into the Mid-Atlantic.
