Hope Hicks Tells Congress That Trump Will Accept Foreign Help

On Thursday a congressional interview transcript released showed former White House Communications Director Hope Hicks told U.S. lawmakers that U.S. President Donald Trump was not joking about his readiness to accept derogatory information on political opponents from a foreign government.

Reuters reports that the 273-page transcript, released by Democrats who lead the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, chronicles eight hours of closed-door testimony that Hicks provided the panel on Wednesday as part of a congressional probe of possible obstruction of justice and other misconduct by Trump.
