Also if someone has come in contact with a person who has covid-19 they are ask to postpone their donation as well.

Brittany sutton the executive director of the red cross of indiana says their needs will grow if more people become ill.

"whenever people are experiencing sickness we have less blood because people are less likely to give blood.

One of the most important things i can convey today is of the people who are able only 3 percent give blood."

As the situation concerning coronavirus evolves the red cross says they will evaluate all new risk factors in collaboration with the u.s. food and drug administration, centers for disease control and prevention and industry partners to determine if additional intervention strategies are needed.
