Wabash Valley native college career ends abruptly at Iowa

Of the big game... the coronavirus not only abruptly ended sports for the time being, it cancelled the spring sports season for college athletes... costing thousands of seniors their final year, including former terre haute south baseball star justin jenkins... < at the age of six justin jenkins fell in the love with the game of baseball...he's had a great 16-year run on the diamond.... "baseball has done more things for me in life than i could ever pay back.

Give back to the game what it gave to me.

The centerfielder has spent the last four years roaming centerfield for the iowa hawkeyes... "can't thank iowa enough.

Got to travel all over the place.

Jenkins was hoping his last go around with the hawkeyes would be his best yet, but he never really got a chance to find out....15 games into his senior season and the coronavirus pandemic ended it all with more than 40 games still left on the schedule.

"all the seniors out there.

We wanted some closure, senior day.

We were going to be done with it the way everyone else had to be done with it".

Jenkins has always been a class act on and off the diamond and its no different now through the toughest moment of his baseball career..... "sun is going to shine another day.

To shine "sun is going to shine another day.

Baseball is going to continue, sports is going to continue.

Life is going to move on.

Stay positive".

The ncaa has granted a waiver for all seniors in spring sports for an extra year of eligibility next season....as much as jenkins has loved baseball he's not going to take that, because he's already got a better offer waiting for him in the real.

"have a job.

Job in bloomington.
