Known as the Forces' Sweetheart, Lynn struck a chord with soldiers fighting overseas and with the public back in Britain with "We’ll Meet Again" and other songs that gave voice to many Britons' hopes and fears about the conflict with Nazi Germany.

The veteran singer will release a new video of her signature song on her birthday, which was originally recorded in 1939, according to record label Decca Reccords.

As the hit was then "morale-boosting ... that sustained Britons through the wartime years", said the press release, it has again become timely in the current climate of uncertainty surrounding global coronavirus events.
