The three rivers distilling company is providing hand sanitizer for those in need-- one bottle at a time.

Fox 55's mallory beard gives us some insight on how the company has been managing how much they've been giving out and just how much it's needed during this time.

Katy silliman"we quickly figured out, 'how do we switch from alcohol that we distribute for consumption to alcohol to be used for a hand sanitizer?"

Since hand sanitizer has been a hot commodity these days... not everyone can get their hands on it.

Katy"i'ts easier for businesses or distilleries such as ourselves to come across those high proof alcohols so that's why.

But it's not as easy for the general public.

Which is why we are moving as fast as we can to find as much as we can to make available."the distillery is donating their hand-made product to local groups in dire need.bob thompson "these are folks who, if covid-19 walked through our doors, it would be disastrous."

The richard lugar safe haven for veterans and rescue mission residents both received donations.katy "we were just happy to be of some benefit.

This is a crazy time.

There's not much that any of us can control.

So when there's something that we can actually do to make an impact, we're happy to do it."because the three rivers hand sanitzer is in such high demand, more won't be available until next week.

Three rivers is offering it to service persone like police and fire, and non profits and businesses who are in need.
