A store owner makes slight changes to her business operations after Starkville leaders issued a city ordinance.

Board of aldermen shot down a policy to close all non essential businesses..

One store owner says her business operations have slightly changed.

Alaina prentice is the owner of merle norman cosmetics and the luna bella gift shop.

Shes the third owner of the store and the store is the second oldest business in starkville.

Alaina said shes relieved her store can stay open.

On tuesday the starkville board of aldermen voted to keep non essential businesses open.

Her store..like many others..is considered a non essential business.

According to mayor lynn spruill non essential businesses are in line with what governor tate reeves considers non essential.

Those that fall outside of emergency personnel, grocery stores and more.

Although her doors remain open, she had to make some changes to her operation.

Customers can only do curbside pickup..and the hours are cut short.
