Heard of the book "love in the time of cholera"...well, now, we have love in the time of coronavirus.

All the little businesses that factor into a wedding...venue, dresses, photography...are taking a big financial hit as social distancing rules force many brides and groom to cancel or postpone their nuptials.

Abc36's alexus larson talked to a lexington bride with a may wedding...who now has to do a different kind of wedding planning.

### it's the moment many of us dream about.

When the love of your life gets down on one knee.

And asks, "will you marry me?"

It was a moment caroline ingrassia her fiance brad saccawill never forget.

"my entire family was there, my sisters, my mom, my dad, everybody so that was really special."

Just as so many loved ones were there for their engagement, ingrassia wanted the same for her wedding day.

The lexington couple has been planning for more than a year to tie the knot in may.

And they invited around 300 people to celebrate with them.

"we're in the final sixty days and we don't even know if we're going to have it."

It's been ingrassia's dream to have a black tie wedding.very elegant and classy.

The couple has paid a lots of money to book vendors for their specific day.

And the virus could cause a lot of problems. "the worst part is you put down deposits for your vendors and a lot of times they won't give you your deposits back so if you're doing a new day, you have to pick a day all the vendors are going to be available."

Ingrassia and her fiance haven't decided yet whether to cancel the wedding.

She says they'll make the final decision when it's a month away.

If they do have to cancel.

She says they'll still getm arried with a small group of people.

And have a celebration most likely a year later when they can book a venue.

"the only most important part of the day is vowing to spend forever with your significant other so that's the most important part with us."

So sure...her dream wedding would be at the perfect venue with all the flowers and decorations.

But she says she'll be okay...even if that doesn't happen...because what will make this a true fairy tale...is just being able to commit to her person for life.

Reporting in lexington, alexus larson, abc 36 news.

### and it isn't just the couples suffering here...but businesses too.

We spoke to a dress shop in lexington that says 45 appointments have been cancelled in thae last two weeks and it'll just get worse as time goes on because usually, fall brides start shopping soon.
