LCSC staff are handing out five meals to families once a week.

Starting in April, you can pick up your meals at either Columbia Elementary School or Logansport High School on Tuesdays.

Are looking for ways to still provide important meals to families while school moves to virtual learning.

I went up to logansport today to see how lcsc is tackling the challenge.

"we are doing what we call grab and go meals.

We've been doing it once a week and we do five breakfasts and five lunches for our students and families" /nat you're welcome have a great day/ they are even extending this to non lcsc families.

As long as you have kids under the age of, 18 you can stop by either columbia elementary school or logansport high school.

"many of our families, they rely on us not only for the educational piece.

Our families planned break, they plan for summer, they plan for their kids to be home for break but then it was all of a sudden, your kids are going to be home now for six plus weeks and you have to figure out how to feed them" and their hard work has paid off.

They gave away more than 10-thousand meals just on monday.

"we knew it was the right thing to do but we've just been scrambling to get product, it's been really difficult to get things together" and that's where the community came in again.

"we've had over 3- thousand dollars just in donations for us to buy food" and tyson donated 5- thousand pounds of chicken to the cause.

"i'm so thankful that we are able to help all these kids here and they seem very appreciative as well" "and it just makes me feel so proud of who we are and what we do here because it's all about the people and what they do for our kids" anna darling news 18 starting in the month of april, lcsc will be moving its food drive to tuesdays at 10 a-m.

The school corporation is using this week for teachers to get prepared for e- learning.

They will start virtual learning next monday.
