Fort Wayne Police investigated four homicides and multiple shootings in January 2020.

That’s an increase over the same time last year when there were no homicides.

The stay at home order is, by design, meant to keep people at home, but are criminals abid ng by the order?

Fox 55 caleb saylor spoke with police today about the latest crime trends and has more.

E did have rough st year.ort wayne police investigated four homicides and multiple shootings in janu ry alone this year.that an increase over the same time last year when there were no homicides.but now police are seeing crime numbers drop significantly as people abide by t stay at home order.

Ver the first week we e actually seen a d in crime calls for service that we e had, in compariso to le seeing we about a thirty five percent drop from analyzing this past week to this week last year.

That thirty five percent includes almost all categories.

Violent crime, assault, hit and runs.

However, some offenses are on the rise such as domestic violometimes s.

People go a little stir crazy at home and sometimes tensions get elevated.

Coun deputies are noticing the same trends.

Fort wayne is seeing an 3 increase in something steuben county i -- robberies.

Ny time we have an economic downturn, we do see a spike in robberies, both personal and business robberies.

So, just people be aware of youre encouraged to continue following the stay at home order to help police do their job and keep the crime stats lower and while the response from officers may look a little different, if you see something, you should still say e still e.
