Kentucky leaders confirming a new death in daviess county today.

In indiana?

There were three new reported cases in vanderburgh, posey and dubois counties?

With the state jumping to more than 2?

Hundred confirmed cases and 49 deaths.

In kentucky?

Daviess county sitting at 34 with hopkins county right behind at 26.

The state's total now at nearly 600 confirmed cases and seventeen people have died.

In illinois?

Governor ?b pritzer says the state jumped to nearly ?

Thousand.

The tr?state part of illinois only seeing one case in saline county?

But almost on?

Hundred people have died statewide.

Daviess county is a hot spot for covi?19 it's got not only the highest number of case?but added another today.

And toda?

Seen its first death from coronavirus.

I wear gloves and this.

I tell my friends all the time.

It nothing them.

I just don want to get it so that why i wear these gloves and mask and everything for protection.

34 covi?19 cases and countin?

That's only a portion of what's in the daviess county community according to health officials.

And no?just a day after the second deat?

Western kentucky has seen its third.

Green river district healt?

Sharing only that this person lived in daviess county.

But hopkins county is not far behind.

Thursda?

Last thursda?we had our first two confirmed cases.

Today, we have 26.

Leaving the bluegrass area of the tr?state the hardest hit locally.

And city and county leader?are calling for more cooperation.

Hopkins county is a hotbed.

I was told not to say that, but i'm going to say it anyway, cause it's the truth.

It's just the way it is.

We've not been following all the procedures we should, so this disease is spreading faster here than anywhere else around.

And we need to stop that.

And urging peopl?to stay hom?

And out of the shop?unless they absolutely need to be there.

It is serious.

It is time we listen.

It is time we comply.

And it is time we're thinking about not just you and your family.

But we're thinking about the families that are serving you as are there in those stores.

An executive order to restrict people from traveling across state lines is now in effect in kentucky.

Andrew garcia travels to henderson tonight and shares this report.

People in the tristate appear to be taking the order seriously.

There is a significantly less traffic crossing the twin bridges from kentucky to indiana.

As folks prepare for how this could impact their day to day routines the thing is keeping everybody safe and slowing the pandemic down as much as we possible can i know i have a special letter that i was given by my employer to make sure that i have clearance to go to and from work and so thats what i go by i work in evansville, live in kentucky i cross the the river and we try to keep everybody safe and healthy thats our main point.

You just have to make some changes and when its possible you just have to make more time to get to work, to and from work and things like that i know theres a lit less traffic on the road now but just making time to make sure youre safely and things like that.

Now in issuing those restrictions, governor beshear said those who travel to another state for nonessential business or activities will be asked to quarantine for 14 days upon return.

"you see a lot more deaths with the elderly esp in the retirement facilities, and its super scary, i just don't think a lot of people are thinking about these places and donating to them" many other americans are getting crafty and making protective gear out of household items. the ??c says something is better than nothing?

But the virus can still spread through cotton and other types of cloth.

Before being sold nationally.

And told to stay home and stay healthy.

Tomorrow is april first?

And that means many bills are coming due.

However most americans won't be able to make all or part of their payments?

Because they haven't been making money.

Workers like hair stylists and barbers have been out of work for days now creating a real hardship on them and their families.

If you don work, you don make money, and i have saved some money thatl take care of this months bill, but how long am i gonna be out?

This is scary.

I don know what going to happen.

All this unanswered questions is what frightening?

Kentucky governor andy beshear shut down all hair salons across the bluegrass two weeks ago.

A record number of people are now filing for unemployment in indiana, kentucky and illinois.

Medical experts are urging parents to look after their kids?

Because this looming crisis can have a big effect on their mental health.

The less time kids spend outside?

The more it could cause problems like anxiety and depression.

Doctors say kids absorb a lot of their parents' behaviors and reactions?

And when times are tough?

It can really trickle down to your kids.

That's why experts are urging parents to teach their children good coping skills while staying busy.

"if a parent is modeling and explaining to their child, 'when i get really worried, i like to get up and go cook something or i like to do a craft."

Experts also recommend teaching your kids a new skill to help keep their minds off these looming problems. staying active can also help reduce that screen time?

There's a hospital bed demand in indiana?

And doctors are getting creative to expand their intensive car units.

It's been more than three weeks since the state announced its first case.

U health is already seeing this.

He explains some hospitals in the suburb of the metro area are already pretty full with critical care patients.

Dr. chris weaver, senior vp of clinic effectiveness , iu health we are working hard between health systems to have consistent dialogue really every day to share stats about how many patients we have, capacity we have that dialogue is happening through this type of model the state department of health has divided indiana into 10 regions.

This collaboratio n among hospitals will be key as more patients come to the ?

R matt browning, vp of business intelligence and member solutionsthey are able to make their own independent plans for handling when patient volumes get sufficient to the point where they need to start directing patients to certain hospitals in their areas matt browning is with the indiana hospital association.

Facilities are working around the clock to create more space.

This month alone, indiana has added more than 500 ??u beds.
