Tropical storm floods hospital ward in northern Thailand

This is the terrifying moment a rainstorm battered a hospital causing floods in the ward yesterday evening (April 5).

Heavy rain and hail battered parts of Loei province in northern Thailand at around 6 p.m.

Local time.

Footage shows the strength of the tropical downpour, as nurses ran inside to take cover.

The rain was so heavy that a hospital ward was flooded and patients had to be moved.

''It was very chaotic,'' said a nurse working at the hospital.

''The patients were almost thrown from their beds.

It was scary.

There were floods in the ward and parts of the ceiling collapsed.'' Thailand is entering the hottest part of the year, when tropical downpours increase in intensity.

The nurse said that there were not any COVID-19 coronavirus patients at the hospital.
