The manager of Aberdeen's Food Giant said the store implemented precautionary measures to protect everyone from the coronavirus.

White house is warning against going to the grocery store or pharmacy over the next two weeks as it expects the coronavirus pandemic to get much worse.

Wtva's wayne hereford joins us live in aberdeen where one store manager shared what his employees are doing to offset the pandemic and the possibility of fewer customers.

I am outside the food giant here in aberdeen where the manager adam fowler says things are going just fine right now.

He is aware of what the federal government is saying about shoppers not coming in as much.

Fowler says the store has taken a lot of precautions because of the coronavirus and he intends to keep his doors opened to customers .

"we saw everything from the panic shopping , to low business, back to normal business, back to panic shopping again when the state went on lockdown."

Adam fowler says the food giant in aberdeen is prepared already for what could be the worst week yet because of the coronavirus.

Employees installed distance markers on the floors to let customers know how close they are to someone else.

Fowler also says they installed shields in front of their cash registers.

And of course, when need be, the cashiers are taking matters into their own hands.

Adam says that's the way it is right now in the grocery business.

"we do ask also that there be only one family member per shopping cart and that would limit how many is in the store."

He says if they have to, they will limit the number of people allowed inside the store.

"we don't the sophisticated equipment to do online orders and stuff like that, but we are taking some phone call orders of people who are in high-risk , elderly who don't normally get out."(adam fowler-store manager food giant) we talked to a couple of customers who said they are good with whatever measures need to be taken right now even if it means coming to the store a lot less.

I'd have to do without.looks like we're going to have to do that anyhow."

I am concerned about other people though.

Yeah."(lois jones-vardaman) adam fowler says he will not shut his store down unless told to by the government.

He says right now , the measures the store is taking seem to be working well.
