How local churches will celebrate Easter & Good Friday in the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first holidays celebrated away from church walls during the covid-19 pandemic.

Churches in the tennessee valley will mainly use online tools to preach to their congregations.

News 12's taylor bishop has the story.

"we're reaching more people, you know.

Where we would have three thousand people in the building on a sunday, now were having thirty-thousand people tune in online to watch us every week.

What the enemy means for evil, god means for the good.

In more ways of just people tuning in, but in multiple ways he's going to turn this around for the good."

Over half of the country has been ordered to stay at home.

These stay-at-home orders are not only affecting families and kids who normally look forward to a visit from the easter bunny, but the church and the economy will feel the pinch as well.

"make it easy for them, don't even make them have to look for it just put it in their face.

Cause right now everybody is just stressed out in so many areas.

They are worried about the sickness but beyond that they are worried about their jobs.

You have people who had their full time jobs and their kids were in school, and now their kids are at home worried about the sickness and they have enough on their minds to think if they need relief they have to go searching for one more thing.

So really our goal has been, let's make everything we can for as many people as we can that are going to be in their homes.

Let's put it right in front of them" a wallethub survey says covid-19 will affect sixty- eight percent of easter spending wallethub also shows that this year forty percent of americans say covid-19 has made them feel more grateful for family, topping health and freedom as the most popular choices.
