The county executive announced that a person that works in the pharmacy at the walgreens on commercial drive in new hartford tested positive for the coronavirus.
He said this is the first public notification regarding a public venue where and individual has tested positive.
The individual followed protcol, wore ppe and had a plexi-glass shield so the exposure risk is low.
If you happened to be at the walgreens on march 31 through april 2, at the pharmacy, you are asked to monitor yourself for symptoms, the infectious period is over for that individual.
If you fever cough shortness of breath...please contact your healthcare provider if those are actual symptoms and whther or not you should be tested.
Again very low risk...especially if you did not go near the pharmacy.
Also...the county is in negotiations with facilities, including the red roof inn in north utica to possibly house individuals who are homeless...if there was an outbreak in the rescue mission or other homeless shelters.... or the need for an individual to be quarantined, the could be housed there...but nothing is in place yet.
