Xxx it's hard to find motivation to work out if you don't have any equipment.

But something as simple as a water jug or even your couch can help you get your reps in.

Xxx "anything you can find to help add resistance is going to help recruit those other muscle fibers."

Olmsted medical center sports performance coach eric pohl says you need to get creative in planning your workout.

Grab an empty jug and fill it with water.... that effort can go a long way in helping build muscle.

A stack of books can be used for pushups or they can be loaded up into a backpack to provide a little more weight.

Even as simple as using your couch.... kitchen counter tops... or an everday broom can provide the resistance you're looking for.

Pohl says that it's not too late to start getting in shape.

"just start one step at a time, maybe just start five minutes a day, or when you wake up in the morning, or before you go to bed or now, these exercises won't help you as much as a squat, bench press or deadlift, but can help you stay in shape while you're at home.
