Fire departments across the state will be collecting your homemade masks to distribute them to congregate care facilities.

That's why governor tim walz is asking you get out your sewing kit and help make masks for your neighbors.

"we obviously understand that people need to be out and you know get their groceries and do some essential things but when you are doing those things we ask and we are hoping that people are taking it to heart that wearing a mask can help me prevent myself from spreading germs and in turn slow the spread to everybody else."
