Many employers furloughed or laid off workers leaving many colleges students in the Class of 2020 worried how they will find a job.

Montgomery hall is quiet.

The building is usually full of seniors looking for help to find a job once they graduate.

One senior i spoke with said many employers are not hiring.

An incomplete senior year ."

"stressed is a good word to use disappointed."

Teyah collier is a mechanical engineering student set to graduate in may.

She said senior year is meant to celebrate milestones and to find a job.

Collier said the latter hasn't been easy.

Teyah collier msu senior ""a lot of people aren't hiring and even if you just call.

They'll say we're not hiring right now but maybe in a couple of months."

She had an internship but the company called it off because of the pandemic.

Collier is also worried about her student loan debt.

Teyah collier msu senior "it adds extra stress.

I'm hoping by the time all this over.

I'll find a job before payments start."

I spoke with kelly atwood who works at the career center.

She said they are holding virtual job fairs and helping students with cover letters and resumes.

Collier said a senior year without graduation and job prospects is not what she imagined.

Teyah collier msu senior "everything you were looking forward to since the beginning of the school is just gone.

So it's like an incomplete senior year.

" collier said if she is unable to find work in a few months.

She plans to return to school get her masters.
