This morning 250 employees from a poultry processing plant in marshall county are self isolating after one employee died from the coronavirus.

The plant is wayne farms on mcdonald avenue in albertville.

The company said the employee left work on april 9th after reporting flu like symptoms. the employee tested positive for coronavirus about a week later - and died 4 days ago.

So far, 75 employees have tested positive, but the company says they plan to keep working.

A company spokesperson said they're giving employees personal protection equipment.

They installed infrared temperature sensors to screen all employees, visitors, and suppliers before entering the facility.

The spokesperson also says they have reduced the production schedule so employees can distance themselves more.

The company said the employees are self isolating either because they have come in contact with someone who tested positive or out of precaution.
