Tourist attractions have been impacted since the coronavirus outbreak

The coronavirus has caused so many places across northeast mississippi to shut down including many tourists attractions in corinth.

Wtvas chelsea brown is in corinth with how businesses there are working to stay afloat.

The city of corinth has plenty museums and tourist attractions around town, like the crossroads museum.

But because of the coronavirus many of these places have been forced to close temporarily.

I spoke with the director of tourism earlier... sot christy burns- executive director of visit corinth "the last 6 weeks has felt like 6 years in the tourism industry from what we have all suffered" typically the tourism industry in corinth brings in 70 million dollars a year.

"we have not seen those numbers yet, but i'm afraid it's going to be pretty devastating" nat sound burns say that many folks are eating and shopping local to support the city's businesses.

She says many small businesses have even applied for small businesses loans.

"corinthians are diligent as well as other mississippians so i think we will bounce back" even though a lot of those places were forced to close because of the coronavirus, a lot of those parks and walking tracks are still open to the public.
