Governor activated the state's national guard to assist with the coronavirus, around 800 guardsmen and women have been put into action.

Joseph are working hard during the covid-19 pandemic.

100 of the guardsmen and women are working on missions across the state of missouri to help the community during this crisis.

Ed black "we've got men and women from our wing, about 100 mobilized across the state doing various missions.

Literally across the state.

We got some medical folks in st.

Louis that are helping stand up an alternate care facility, basically an alternate hospital for overflow.

We got some folks honestly helping with the triumph food testing that's on- going still.

Mainly logistically.

We set up some tents and helped with what we do best which is do some grunt work and get the cite set up."

They are also doing their part in st.

Joseph.

For 3 weeks 15 teamed up with second harvest to distribute mealscol.

Ed black "so they've served over 1,200 families.

And any given day--i mean directly 1,200 families.

So any given day they are packing over 400 meals."

800 members of the greater missouri national guard are working together to join in the effort col.

Like the department of home health and senior services.

Certainly the state of emergency management offices and the department of public safety.

It truly is a whole of government missourians across the state."
