There are 227 new confirmed cases.... with a statewide of total of 7,080 cases.

- ... the governor also announced a new commissioner for the kentucky department of corrections.

He says cookie crews has been with corrections for thirty-six years and has served in the health services divison of the department.

The governor says that experience will be important as crews oversees the situation at green river correctional complex... which has become a covid-19 hot spot.

The governor also delivered some good news on the 10- year-old kentuckian who was critically ill with the covid-19 related illness... pediatric inflammatory syndrome.

He says the boy is now off the ventilator.

It was also announced the state now has a new hotline to answer questions from parents about the syndrome.
