Happening today- lawmakers in our nations capitol are set to vote on another round of pandemic relief packages... the new legislation- known as the heroes act and backed by house democratic leaders would add another three trillion dollars in aid to help the economy, states, and local governments... 54 billion dollars.

That is the budget deficit the state of california is now faced with dealing with in the aftermath of the coronavius pandemic.

That number represents a 23.3% decline in revenue.

The governor is proposing cancelling 6.1 billion dollars earmarked for spending increases.

Happening today- president trump's planning a midday announcement about the vaccine he's promised by the end of the year.

The announcement comes after a congressional hearing tuesday where former federal vaccine expert doctor rick bright told lawmakers that it could take longer than a year, maybe even a year and a half before a vaccine is ready... ### an announcement from redding mayor adam mcelvain this week.

Redding will work toward reopening at a heightened pace... starting this summer as businesses begin to reopen many parents will be headed back to work in the coming months but these parents need not worry..

As we move further into stage two of reopening, many shoppers are now able to stop at their favorite downtown chico businesses.

The owner of 5th street clothing company says they steady and have seen a positive response from the community.

After 42 years of business, 5th street clothing company has had to make some adjustments during the coronavirus pandemic.

They closed for almost two months---but launched a new website to be able to stay afloat.

Last week they were one of the first clothing stores in chico to open back up-- despite going through some challenges.

Restaurants are also looking at how to best go about opening their dine-in services.

Tres hombres is going on its third week of curbside ordering.

But the owner says he's hoping to allow customers back inside very soon.

Owner michael thomas says they're planning to put a plexi- glass barrier up between the out door seating area and the sidewalk.

Thomas says they're losing 50 percent of their overall seating to protect customers.

Tattoo parlors fall under the state's stage three of reopening -- but some are already open in our area..
