(Part 2 of 2) The class of 2020 has graduated under extraordinary circumstances.

CBS has compiled a heartwarming tribute to them containing some of their own commencement speeches.

And we remember the life of Texas trailblazer Phyllis George.

The corona- virus pandemic is forcing most high school seniors to say goodbye to their teachers and classmates in ávirtualá graduation ceremonies.

Cbs asked some of this year's student speakers to share their speeches with us including amari dorsey from greenville.

She joins other seniors with their messages to the class of 2020.

People were dying, i heard gunshots right outside my house // never did i think i would be living a similar reality."

Instead, our memories began to fill with cancellations."

How can we not envy what other students had in years prior?

"with all that w have lost, it can be easy to forget all that we have gained."

"we gained community of teachers who love us and taught us that our ideas have value.

"at home, we too care of our family members, learned how to cook, bake, and even figured out how to fix things around the house" "these are th times we must remember that these are the exact same conditions that a seed endures before it becomes a beautiful plant.

We are those plants."

Phyllis george died recently.

She was many television pioneer.

Meg oliver has the story of a texas beauty queen who broke barriers in sportscasting at cbs.

Nats miss america 1971 crowning @00:40 "miss america, mis texas!"

1971 - there she was - phyllis george - crowned the 50th miss america - something she called the springboard for her life.

She joined the cbs family in 1975 - the first woman to co- anchor "the nf today."

"the women' super bowl was just held" her colleagues said she gave depth to athlete interviews & "what is wron with the ny jets?"

& here with joe namath - that male reporters never could.

Ten years later - george took on morning television on the "cb morning news."

Over the years, she covered many of the biggest stories in sports and news.

"i hope i broke tha glass ceiling for a lot of women, i did for myself.

I hope more women will benefit what i did back in the day today."

In still another role, she became first lady of kentucky following her marriage to former governor john y.

Brown.

Phyllis george died in lexington kentucky from a long illness.

She was 70 years old.
